Description:
The Foothills Nordic Biathlon Bears program teaches the basic skills of biathlon in a safe and fun environment. The overall aim is to build confidence with summer cross training for skiing and shooting skills and provide a fun introduction to fitness-for-life. The summer camps are aimed at young athletes with an interest in biathlon who are looking to learn more about the sport and build up their skills for the fall and winter season.
Over the course of the camps biathletes will learn target shooting skills, build general ski fitness, participate in fun drills and games, and learn about the sport from local top level athletes. We will cap off each camp with a running biathlon race with prizes for everyone!
If you have questions, please contact the Biathlon Director or the Camp Coordinator, Kurtis Wenzel.
Please note: A Biathlon Alberta membership is required for using the range for this program as it includes important safety agreements. For those who plan to race this winter you will be required to get a racing licence for $55 anyways (select Jr B/G and younger). If you do not plan to race the membership is $20 (recreational athlete). The link to register is below. It says Biathlon Canada, but this is the correct page. Just select Alberta as your province.

You are not required to have a Foothills Nordic Ski Club membership for this camp, however, if you are registered for Foothills Nordic programs this winter you will need this as well. The link is below:
