The Foothills Nordic Ski Club Annual General Meeting will be held on June 21, 2016 at the Silver Springs Community Centre (5720 Silver Ridge Drive NW) at 7:00 PM. Snacks and refreshments will be served.

As part of the AGM, the 2016-2017 Executive Committee will be elected. The Executive Committee includes the President, Past President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Cross-Country Program Director, Biathlon Program Director, Communications Director and Events Director.

All positions (except Past President) are open to all club members 18 years of age and older. All members, 16 years of age and older are eligible to vote.

The following Executive Committee members have indicated that they are willing to hold his or her seat for the upcoming season: Masten Brolsma (Past President), Bill Gilliland (Vice President), Beth Bohme (Treasurer), Farley Klotz (Cross Country Program Director) and Bart Hulshof (Communications Director).

Multiple members have expressed interest in the Secretary and Biathlon Program Director position. No one has yet expressed interest in the President or Events Director positions.To ensure a vibrant and active Executive Committee, it is important that all positions are filled.

By-Law Amendment. Current club by-laws include the following: “Purpose: The Club’s purpose it to promote cross-country skiing and related activities, such as biathlon, as a competitive sport and as a form of recreation in the City of Calgary and throughout Alberta.” We have been informed by the government that a ‘Purpose’ is not to be included in our club by-laws. We will therefore be voting to remove the above Purpose from our by-laws.

More information on the AGM will be sent out to all members as the date approaches.
