FNSC Kings Court Sprint Race- Free Technique (U14 to Master)

Qualification rounds to commence at 11:00am, Sprint Heats at 12:30pm (Tentative)

Kings Court Format

  • Timed qualifier, 15 sec starts (seeded start)
  • Skiers ranked by qualifying time
  • Guaranteed 3 Heats
  • Heats of six
      • Top 2 from move up
      • Middle 2 from heat stay
      • Bottom 2 from heat move down
  • Gender/Age groups all combined for heats
  • Awards sorted after by age/gender group

Team Captains Meeting for Friday Sprint Race Only:  To accommodate same day travel to Canmore, NO in person Team Captains meeting is planned for the Friday race.  A power point version of Team Captains Meeting for Friday's race will be available on the Foothills website https://foothillsnordic.ca/races/alberta-cup-3-4/ as of Thursday night.  Any issues regarding Friday’s race can be brought to the race office up until 10:00am Friday morning.

  • U20/, U23 & Senior Men/Women will race as an Open category for the Alberta Cup Events; results will be tabulated as separate categories.
  • For all events, the final courses and distances are tentative and are subject to change based on trail conditions at the time of the event.
  • There will be no changes to seeding list after 3pm Friday Jan 10. Any athletes wishing to race up must also notify race office by 3pm Friday Jan 10.

Seeding:

Seeding for Friday Sprint, Saturday Interval Start and Sunday Mass Start will be in accordance with the CCA 2019 Technical package for Alberta Cups. The most recent published CPL points list is to be used.

Awards

FNSC Kings Court Sprint (Presented by TCR)

  • U14 & U16 YOB Awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd
  • U20/U23/Open - Awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
  • Masters Awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Single category, no age differentiation

Alberta Cup 3 & 4

CCA Alberta Cup awards will be presented based on the following:

  • U8 to U14 – Year of Birth medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd and ribbons for 4th to 6th.
  • U16 – Year of Birth medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
  • U20 to Masters – category medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Awards will be presented as soon as possible after each event.

Entries will only be accepted on-line through the Zone4 Website and available December 19th to January 9th, 2020 23:59 PM MST.
