Ivan Babikov, Foothills Nordic member and long-time National Ski Team athlete, raced to two top 10 finishes at the Ski Tour Canada. On March 9th Ivan raced with the top group all day in a grueling 30 km Skiathlon (15 km each of classic and skate) in Canmore. The pace picked up a lot the last kilometre and Ivan ended up 10th place less than 17 seconds behind winner from Norway.
Today, in the 15 km skate ski race, Babikov finished an impressive 10th again. Alex Harvey finished with an amazing 4th place and three Canadian men finished in the top 20.
That is third top 10 finish by Foothills athletes at the Tour. Jesse Cockney finished 10th in Quebec City. Kevin Sandau from Foothills is also having an excellent Tour, finishing 40th in the Skiathlon and 43rd today (up from his seeding of 56th).
