Programs for All Ages
Explore our cross-country skiing programs designed for kids and adults, perfect for beginners! Our programs focus on teaching fundamental skiing skills through age-appropriate lessons, starting with basic movement on skis. Guided by the skill progression outlined in Nordiq Canada’s Athletic Development Matrix, our coaches ensure a comprehensive and enjoyable learning experience. Learn more about the matrix here.
Which Nordic Ski program should I register in?

If your child is 4 years old, choose Bunnies
If you live near Maple Ridge, choose Maple Ridge Bunnies
No Biathlon option is available at this age, choose either Bunnies options above

If your child is 5 years old, choose Bunnies
If you live near Maple Ridge, choose Maple Ridge Bunnies
No Biathlon option is available at this age, choose either Bunnies options above

If your child is new to skiing, choose Jackrabbits 1
If your child has completed a Jackrabbit level, register them for the next Jackrabbit level. Ex: If they have completed Jackrabbits 1, choose Jackrabbits 2
No Biathlon option is available at this age, we suggest choosing Jackrabbit 1 to begin learning skiing skills

If your child is new to skiing, choose Jackrabbits Learn to Ski U10 or U12
If your child has completed Jackrabbits 1, choose Jackrabbits 2
If your child has completed Jackrabbits 2, choose Jackrabbits 3
If you child has completed Jackrabbits 3, choose Jackrabbits 4
Or if they have developed basic classic and skate skiing technique, and wish to ski more often (2x per week) choose JR+
Or if your child is interested in Biathlon and is 9 years old, choose Biathlon Bears (no prior skiing experience is needed)

If your child is new to skiing, or still learning the basics of classic and skate skiing, choose Jackrabbits Learn to Ski U12
If your child was in first year U14 Adventure last season choose U14 Adventure
If your child has completed JR4 or JR+ or U14 Adventure, and would like to participate in a racing program, choose Track Attack
If you are choosing Track Attack and your child is interested in Biathlon, choose to add on Racing Bears
If your child is interested in Biathlon or was in Biathlon Bears last season, and is still 10 years old, choose Biathlon Bears

If your child is new to skiing, or still learning the basics of classic and skate skiing, choose U14 Adventure
If your child was in first year U14 Adventure last season choose U14 Adventure
If your child has completed the Jackrabbit program, U14 Adventure, or Track Attack and would like to participate in a racing program, choose Train to Train 1
If your child is still 12 years old and was in Biathlon Bears or Racing Bears last year, but hasn’t graduated yet, or would like to add shooting to XC Skiing, choose Racing Bears
If your child has graduated from Racing Bears, Girls With Guns, Biathlon Bears programs, or athletes 12 and older new to the sport, choose T1 Biathlon

If your child is new to skiing, or still learning the basics of classic and skate skiing, choose U18 Adventure
If your child is between 14 and 16 years old and has completed Train to Train 1, choose Train to Train 2
If your child is between 14 and 16 years old and has completed Biathlon Train to Train 1, choose Biathlon Train to Train 2
If your child is between 17 and 18 years old and has completed Train to Train 2, choose Learn to Compete
If your child is between 17 and 18 years old and has completed Biathlon Train to Train 2, choose Biathlon Learn to Compete
If your child has graduated from Learn to Compete or Biathlon Learn to Compete and would like to continue racing during their post secondary years, choose Peak Nordiq

For post-secondary athletes who have completed Learn to Compete and wish to continue to train and compete at a high level in Cross Country Skiing or Biathlon, choose Peak Nordiq
For adults new to skiing, or have some skills they want to improve on, there are three programming options: Intro to Cross Country Skiing- Classic/Skate, Technique Improvement – Classic/Skate, or Intro to Skate Skiing. Program details can be found here: Adult Programs
The 55+ Women’s program is designed for women over the age of 55 who have some cross country ski experience. Details can be found here: Women’s 55+
If you are an experienced to advanced skier interested in getting prepared for loppets and building and improving fitness through longer ski outings, choose Learn to Loppet
If you are an experienced to advanced skier interested in workouts that focus on fitness and improving ski technique in both the classic and skate techniques, choose Ski Fitness
If you are an intermediate and advanced skier who wants to improve their fitness and ski technique in both classic and skating styles in a fun group atmosphere, choose Masters
